Welcome to The King Is Coming. This blog will be seperate from my other blog project, Good Sense. The purpose of this blog is to conduct expository bible study through a selected book of the Bible. We will be beginning with the Gospel of John. This happens to be my favorite Gospel and it is with high anticipation that I look to this study. I will set forth a few ground rules and handy things to know.
1.) I will be using two primary translations of the Bible on this blog. I will use the New King James Version in quoting verses and textual passages. I will use the New American Standard Bible in undertaking exegesis of the selected passage. Unless otherwise noted, these will be the primary translations used here. The reasons are simple, the manuscripts used by the New King James are the same as the those used by the KJV .The NASB is simply the most literal, word-for-word translation available in modern translations.
2.) We will undertake a verse-by-verse exposition of the Scriptures. We will see applications to modern life in these verses. We will occasionally use an illustration, but it is my firm belief that the text is its own best illuminator.
3.) As this blog is about Christian life and Bible study (and NOT apologetics) comments will be moderated. This is to avoid spam, profane comments and rude, blasphemous comments.
